#043 – The Mirrors in You

I’m actually not surprised the US election turned into such a tight race. Actually, just the fact that the current President would even have a chance to win again - after all of the scandals and tweets and political horror of the last four years, that very fact is not surprising at all… Why? Because there is one thing he knows very well and most people don’t…   My name is Camille, you’re listening to Cosmic Dynamics, 5 min of exploration on art, culture, narratives, words, stories, change & the music of the universe.   You would think that such a level of scandal would create mass mobilisation among those who did not vote last time, those who were unsure, those who changed their mind- and that this shift  would result in a far majority of voters moving to the other pole… But obviously not… because by now we would know the result. And we don’t. How is that possible?   Well, here is one fact that this one candidate knows very well and that most people don’t. One fact about how the mind works. We talked about it already at Cosmic, are you ready… “By giving attention to someone performing an action, regardless of if you agree or not with that person, regardless of if you agree or not with this action, with the stories your imagination processes by paying attention to that person, you are becoming measurably and objectively more like that person.” I repeat: “By giving attention to someone performing an action, regardless of if you agree or not with that person, regardless of if you agree or not with this action, with the stories your imagination processes by paying attention to that person, you are becoming measurably and objectively more like that person.” Yes, it’s scary and if you need to be convinced about this fact you can:

1. Ask yourself if the US and the media world became measurably more like Trump over the last 4 years, or less like Trump? And how can that be given the record level of scandal in every piece of communication?
2. You can also ask yourself, how the hell is it possible that he even stands a chance?
3. Or I can tell you that this fact, is a fact because it is scientifically proven - wow - now it’s trustworthy for sure. We can possibly dive into the technicalities of how that works if you are interested. But I suggest we focus on solutions instead.

  Solutions? What could they possibly be? If, regardless of what I think, I am becoming measurably more like this kind of character, because they are taking over the media and cultural landscape,  and so they are taking my attention… it’s the whole field of politics and the whole media landscape that would need to be reorganised!   Well yes, but there is more that would need to happen. I know this from my recent Cosmic Trip to Planet ReflectionL in the galaxy of Mirrora where inhabitants - the reflectionals - have managed to get through this. I give you one clue, it’s not about revolution, it’s about evolution.
