#041 – Tribute to 1X

Transcript:

A couple of days ago I received a very important email from a Cosmic listener. Her name is Divya - I hope I pronounce your name correctly Divya…  This episode is a tribute to your email, what you mentioned  in this email is very meaningful to me and it inspired me to write this episode, for everyone to benefit from this small step you decided to take. You’re listening to Cosmic Dynamics, 5 min of exploration about art, change & the music of the universe. So why was that mail so important? Well first of all, all emails from Cosmic listeners are important, and it’s very meaningful to us to read them all and the whole Cosmic team is grateful for the time you are taking to share your thoughts and encouragements with us.  Now, this one includes Cosmic fuel for a decade - thank you so much Divya really - it also includes a couple of gold nuggets I couldn’t help but take even further. I will not read the whole message here, I chose to focus on the part that inspired this episode in particular: Divya says: “I have been listening to podcasts for close to a decade now and cosmic is the first one that I'm listening to at 1x...cosmic is the first one that I'm listening to at 1x. Hahaha. I know it doesn't seem like much but this is the first show to prompt me to take my time. To go slow. To relax and still move with conviction that change can be brought”. Aw… How’s that? take time. Let’s take the time to take a breathe, in 1X please. Time. That’s quite an intense subject. The stories we humans tell ourselves about time are quite… interesting...  Our understanding of Time is distorted, imprecise, and exhausting - And unless you push yourself into taking perspective, you can go a whole lifetime - not in 1x) but in 2x, 3x or 5x even… My contribution today, triggered by Divya’s email is this one. Remember that time as we know it, is an illusion. That it is subject to paradigm, which means it’s probably a good idea to be a bit less convinced about its taste, it’s shape and the stories it conveys. It comes not from the physical world but from our mental states. And so from there anything is possible. I will dive a bit deeper in the next episode, while making sure we don’t get lost in these multiple theoretical debates physicists have with philosophers and between themselves. This will take us to… the decisions we make with the time we have. And to Divya, listening to Cosmic in 1x is maybe a small step, but I can read from your email that it’s an important one. If in the current context you are - as you said -  prompting yourself to take your time, to go slow, to relax and still be moving meaningfully - then you must be gaining perspective on how our minds create and perceive time. On the dangerous narratives that surround it, and we’ll touch on it next...time :) Let us know where this is taking you, and thank you thank you thank you for this positive energy you sent us. And the ...time you took to write. As art piece of the day, I suggest we all take a closer look at how an artisan watch is made. If that’s not art work...

This episode is a tribute to taking the time.
